FAQ
Can an item be sold twice — once in the store and once online?
No. Every sale locks the item first. If two people go for the same piece at the same moment, the first payment wins and the other person is told it just sold before they’re charged.
Do dealers have to list their items in AllAisles?
Yes — the register sells from the same inventory, so an item has to be listed (and tagged) to be rung up. That’s also what makes payouts automatic. Dealers who don’t want to list can have your staff do it for them, with your listing-service fee.
If we change a dealer’s commission, what happens to past sales?
Nothing. Each sale keeps the rates it was made with. The new rate applies from the next sale on.
Where does the money go?
All payments — cash, card, check and online — go to the mall. AllAisles works out what each dealer is owed, and you pay them on your schedule.
Who pays the card processing fee?
You choose in Settings: dealers (most common), customers, or the mall. You can exempt individual dealers.
Is booth rent taken out of payouts?
If you choose. Rent is pro-rated to your payout schedule — a weekly statement takes about a quarter of the monthly rent. If rent is more than a dealer sold, the statement shows what they owe.
What if a customer returns something?
Refund the order. The items go back on sale, and the dealer’s share comes off their next payout — even if you’ve already paid them for it.
Do you support gift cards?
The register takes the mall’s own paper gift certificates as a payment: choose Gift cert. and enter the certificate number. Dealers are paid as if it were cash. AllAisles doesn’t sell certificates or track their balances — keep doing that the way you do now — but every sale records which certificate paid for it, and you can search orders by certificate number.
Does AllAisles do 1099s?
Yes. Dealers enter their W-9 details in their portal, and at year end the 1099s page adds up each dealer’s gross sales, net payouts or commissions — you choose which — and exports a file for a 1099 filing service. Whether and how to file is a question for your accountant. See Year-end 1099s.
Can a cashier give a discount?
Only if their role has Change prices at the register. The owner decides on the Roles & permissions page.
What equipment do we need?
A computer or tablet with a web browser at the counter, any USB barcode scanner, and a printer for tags and receipts. Your existing card terminal works alongside it.
What if our internet goes down?
Today the register needs an internet connection. An offline mode that keeps selling and catches up when the connection returns is on the way. In the meantime, a phone hotspot will keep the register going.
Can shoppers reserve items?
Not from the website — carts don’t hold items, because the floor keeps selling. A shopper who pays online owns the item immediately, and it’s held for pickup.
Who owns our data?
You do. Your dealers, inventory, customers and sales are yours, and we’ll export them for you if you ever leave.
